About Coach

I am a graduate of Grove City College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and am currently the Business Development Director for the underground soft rock business of Komatsu in Cranberry. I have been an avid runner for many years, having completed many marathons, half-marathons, and shorter distance races over that time. In addition to running, I have been heavily involved with the Butler County Soccer Association in many capacities for the last 20 years, but mainly now as a referee. My wife, Lori, also trains at CrossFit and is the one that got me, and my daughters, Elizabeth and Abigail, into the gym. I started CrossFit with the goal of improving my running performance, which I have definitely seen through the years. I completed the CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Course and began coaching in 2020. My passion continues to be running, and I like to instill my enjoyment of running and the conditioning that comes from it to the other athletes at CrossFit Recreate.

Turning Point

My fitness journey began in the early-2000's when I had some potential health issues that could be addressed with getting in shape. From then, I started running and have not quit since. CrossFit has just made me a stronger runner.

Motivation & Passion

I am motivated by helping individuals push themselves outside of their fitness comfort zone- whether by using heavier weights, trying new gymnastics movements, increasing their mobility, or running further than they have before.
