Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, Slippery Rock University
I am a graduate of Slippery Rock University, with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Exercise has always been something to come naturally to me, as I was an athlete growing up. I played baseball and basketball, but enjoy watching and covering almost all sports. You can always be certain I will talk to you about sports! As a young guy who has mostly trained for athletics specifically, I am rather new to the CrossFit realm and have really enjoyed all I have been able to learn here at CrossFit Recreate.
After being put on the JV team as a Junior due to lack of power, I knew I needed to get in the gym! I was tired of being the weak, skinny kid. After pursuing athletic training/strength development to better myself for my remaining year and a half of high school, I took these principles and began to train myself in college. This is where I found that coaching, programming, and helping others in this complex journey is exactly what I wanted to do as a career.
My primary motivation on a daily basis is to share the urgency of health and well-being. The cliché term, “you only get one body” can be overused, but I truly feel that there are too many people who go through life unhappy, unhealthy, and in pain. My passion is to help as many people as I can to move to the best of their ability. My coaches and trainers have had a massive impact on my life both in and outside of the gym. If I can have even half that impact, I’d consider that a success!
